**Position will work with our Stroke/ Neuroscience Progressive Care Unit**
This position is located at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA.
This position will support Carilion’s hallmarks of service excellence and quality for all job responsibilities. Provides clinical leadership to nursing team and manages provision of patient care. Facilitates practices to ensure compliance with Core Measures and The Joint Commission requirements. Educates, coaches, and mentors nursing staff to ensure exceptional patient care and efficient use of resources. Advocates for improvements in health care systems, policies, procedures, and the professional roles of nurses. Assures continuity of care across the continuum through appropriate discharge planning, patient education, and coordination of services. Collaborates with physicians, other providers, patients and patient’s family to optimize care plan and evaluate outcomes.

Education: Master’s Degree in Nursing with Clinical Nurse Leader concentration from accredited school of nursing required.
- Three to five years of clinical leadership experience required, including knowledge and expertise in caring for specific patient populations with evidence of successful change management.
- Comprehensive knowledge of general nursing theory and practice, and expanded knowledge of current clinical and specialized patient care concepts.
- Knowledge of performance improvement, quality, accreditation and other regulatory standards.
- Demonstrated organizational ability and initiative to manage multiple complex projects and priorities.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership skills which facilitate conflict resolution and promote staff engagement and development.
